Heat Pumps
We install the most common type of heat pumps which are air source. Air source heat pumps work by generating energy from the air outside that is used to provide hot water and heating. The technology is new to the UK heating industry, but has been in use for over a hundred years and is proven in providing reliable and sustainable heating and hot water in many other countries.
We oversee all aspects of the design, installation and commissioning of any new heat pump systems we install, and can carry out ongoing service and maintenance.
Heat Pump Design and Installation
The keys to efficient and cost effective heat pumps are the design of the system and correct set up and commissioning once they been installed.
The system design involves a detailed survey of the property, heat loss calculations, and assessment of user requirements. With this information the correct size of heat pump and hot water cylinder can be accurately specified, along with any essential and/or recommended changes to the rest of the heating system or the property.
We are GAS SAFE and OFTEC registered so can de-commission and remove any old heating appliances. Installation this then mainly plumbing and electrical work but can also involve some small building works.
Once installation is complete the correct setting up of the system and commissioning are essential. Our engineers are fully trained to the highest industry standards to ensure this is done correctly and the system works at its optimum level.

Government Grants and 0% VAT.
The Boiler Upgrade Scheme (BUS) provides grants from the Government to subsidise homeowners and businesses replacing gas or oil based heating systems with renewable alternatives, including heat pumps. Under the scheme, applicants are eligible for a contribution of up to £7,500 towards the upfront cost of installing an air source heat pump. In order to qualify for the grant, the heat pump installation must comply with the MSC scheme. We are partnered with MSC Umbrella Scheme providers to make this a quick simple procedure.
Up until April 2027 a zero rate of VAT applies to the installation of “energy saving materials”. Energy Saving Materials can include air source heat pumps and any associated necessary extra work that needs to be done as part of a new air source heat pump installation. This includes associated works required to modify controls, radiators and pipework.
Heat Pump Servicing
Regular annual servicing of heat pumps is essential to ensure they operate at the highest levels of efficiency and to prevent breakdowns.
Annual servicing is usually also required to maintain any manufacturers guarantees of equipment.
What we do?
Gas Services
Boiler and Central Heating Installations
We provide free surveys and quotations for central heating and boiler installations and replacements. We are not tied to any boiler manufacturers so we can offer impartial advice based purely on how best to meet your requirements.
Electrics
Full Electrical Installation Tests and Rewires
Periodic inspection and testing of electrical installations and the issue of Electrical Condition Reports are recommended for all domestic properties. In particular if properties are rented out or used by the public, testing is strongly recommended.
